Zoë Marie Federoff Leaks Texts Exposing Alleged Financial Issues With Cradle Of Filth Management

Former Cradle of Filth keyboardist Zoë Marie Federoff has dramatically escalated her public feud with the band by releasing screenshots of an alleged text message exchange with their manager, Dez Fafara. The released texts appear to support her earlier claims of financial exploitation, documenting a heated argument where management attempts to take a commission from the musicians’ publishing money—an action Federoff insists they have no legal right to take. You can see the screenshots down below.

Posting to her Facebook stories on Friday, August 29, Federoff presented the screenshots under the heading: “Re: the ‘dead horse’ incident,” suggesting this was the confrontation that led to management allegedly calling her by that derogatory name. The text exchange, which also includes her husband and now-former guitarist Marek “Ashok” Šmerda and another unnamed band member, details a tense dispute over commissions on the advance for the band’s latest album, The Screaming of the Valkyries.

The argument begins with a band member questioning the commission. Fafara allegedly replies: “Legal worked very hard Mgmt worked very hard to get these monies No one works for free… Is there a problem?”

The unnamed band member shoots back: “If you’re saying that management is taking a cut of my publishing money, yes, there is a problem… Concerning publishing, I have no agreement with you. You’re the band manager, not mine.” Federoff is shown chiming in: “Yes, that’s a problem.”

Federoff provided her own context for the screenshots, stating: “We the musicians have no contract with management. They can’t take publishing money/advance money from the musicians themselves who wrote the album. Period.”

This new evidence adds a layer of specific, documented proof to the shocking allegations Federoff has made over the past week. The crisis began on August 24 when she abruptly quit the band mid-tour. Days later, she released a damning exposé alleging a “toxic and threatening” environment of financial exploitation and verbal abuse, placing the ultimate blame on frontman Dani Filth. In a heartbreaking revelation, she stated that the “health toll it took on us also led me to miscarry our first pregnancy on tour.”

The band responded swiftly by firing her husband, Ashok, who had also announced his intention to leave. Dani Filth released a statement accusing the couple of attempting to “illegally defame and derail the band” and dismissing their allegations as “unjust and unfounded.”

By releasing these alleged text messages, Zoë Marie Federoff has moved from making broad accusations to presenting specific, documented evidence. Her latest move ensures that the bitter and public battle over the inner workings of Cradle of Filth is far from over, as she continues to fight for what she believes is the truth, regardless of the personal or professional cost.
