Heavy metal legends Slayer are reportedly in talks for a surprise live performance at WrestleMania 41, according to a report from Fightful Select. Sources suggest the band would appear on Night Two of WWE‘s flagship event to accompany the entrance of Damian Priest for his match against Drew McIntyre.
While WWE has yet to confirm the collaboration, speculation is fueled by Priest‘s existing connection with the band. Just weeks ago, it was announced that Damian Priest would serve as the official guest host for Slayer‘s only scheduled headlining U.S. concert of 2025, set to take place on September 20th at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, PA. This massive show will also feature Knocked Loose, Power Trip, Suicidal Tendencies, Cavalera (performing the album Chaos A.D.), and Exodus (performing Bonded By Blood).
The rumored song for Priest‘s entrance is “South of Heaven,” a classic Slayer track that shares its name with Priest‘s signature chokeslam maneuver, making it a fitting choice.
Although Slayer has never performed live for WWE before, their music has been featured. At WrestleMania 27, Edge made his entrance using a Slayer track, setting a precedent for metal’s presence at the event.
WrestleMania 41 weekend is already shaping up to be a star-studded affair. Tonight, on Night One, Living Colour is scheduled to perform CM Punk‘s entrance theme, “Cult of Personality,” live.
WrestleMania 41 is scheduled to take place in April 2025.
