World Of Warcraft Character Named After Corpsegrinder Renamed Due To Comments He Made 14 Years Ago

Corpsegrinder World Of Warcraft

Blizzard Entertainment have renamed character in World of Warcraft which is named after Cannibal Corpse frontman George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher. The character in question is “Gorge The Corpsegrinder.”

Fans were citing comments made by Fisher‘s famous interview in 2007, which have been accused of homophobia.

After player outcry against Fisher‘s character spilled over onto World Of Warcraft-related forums earlier this year given his past comments, the decision was made to more recently rename Fisher‘s character. “Gorge The Corpsegrinder” has now been renamed to “Annihilator Grek’lor.”

In an interview, Fisher frequently used offensive terms against homosexuals in relation to some of the game’s characters.

Cannibal Corpse‘s latest studio album, Violence Unimagined, was released on April 16th via Metal Blade Records.
