A Sanguisugabogg concert in Worcester, Massachusetts, turned into a memorable night for one couple when a marriage proposal took place onstage.
During the band’s September 19 performance, vocalist Devin Swank brought Amber and Blake onto the stage and revealed that the couple’s first date had taken place at a Sanguisugabogg show three years earlier.
With the audience cheering them on, Amber got down on one knee and asked Blake to marry her. Blake accepted, officially turning the couple’s shared history with the band into an engagement.
Swank narrated the proposal as it unfolded, giving the crowd a play-by-play of the moment. Footage of the entire interaction can be seen below.
But in true Sanguisugabogg fashion, the sentimental moment was followed almost immediately by something considerably less romantic.
Once Amber and Blake had left the stage, Swank addressed the crowd and said: “Enough of that sappy s**t, this next song’s about f**king dead bodies. ‘Cause that’s what I like to do,”
The band then launched into “Felony Abuse of a Corpse,” providing an appropriately brutal soundtrack to the end of the newly engaged couple’s onstage moment.
