Hatebreed guitarist Wayne Lozinak has provided a positive update on his health following surgery to remove a benign brain tumor. A week after undergoing the procedure, a craniotomy, Lozinak announced on Instagram that he has returned home and is recovering well.

In his post on Sunday, August 10, Lozinak shared, “Hello everyone! I’m finally home. Last week was rough! But I’m getting better every day. Gonna be a while before I get fully recovered, but it’s going good!”

The guitarist also expressed his gratitude to the people who supported him during his medical ordeal. He thanked his followers for their messages of support, which he had not been able to see while in the hospital. “I want to thank you all for all the messages,” he wrote. “I really appreciate it! Made me feel good!” He also gave a special shout-out to his partner, Kat Nacario, and his medical team for their care.

“I also want to thank @katnacario!!! She stayed with me in the room all week, and contacted people to let them know what was going on. She is the greatest! I love You! My surgical team was great! Big thanks to @kims.living.life for getting me the best care, and checking on me every day! Thanks again, for all the messages! Onward & upward!”

Lozinak’s diagnosis was first made public in June after he experienced symptoms similar to a stroke while at Download Festival. A subsequent CT scan and MRI revealed a benign meningioma—a slow-growing tumor that, according to the band’s statement at the time, “has likely been present for years.” The band expressed relief at the time, calling the diagnosis “the best possible outcome given the circumstances.”

While Lozinak recovers, Hatebreed has continued its touring schedule, with Matt Bachand of Shadows Fall stepping in on guitar and Carl Schwartz of First Blood and Terror handling bass duties. Lozinak, who has been a key member of the band since rejoining in 2009, will take an extended period to recover before returning to the stage.
