Megadeth Dave Mustaine Resurrection Fest 2024

Thrash metal legends Megadeth have offered fans an intimate, behind-the-scenes glimpse into their recent European festival run, showcasing the formidable power of their current lineup in newly released footage. The video, captured during the band’s thunderous performance at the Tons Of Rock festival in Oslo, Norway, on June 28, provides a “you are there” perspective as the band simultaneously puts the finishing touches on their highly anticipated seventeenth studio album.

The footage was shared by Professor Reggie Almeida, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor who has been traveling with the band on their recent tours, giving it a unique, inner-circle feel. The clip combines candid backstage moments with powerful live shots, capturing the energy of the well-oiled machine that is the modern Megadeth. The performance was part of the band’s extensive run of European summer festival dates, which saw them deliver a career-spanning set to the massive Norwegian crowd.

Megadeth’s Tons Of Rock Setlist – June 28, 2025:

  • “Hangar 18”
  • “Dread and the Fugitive Mind”
  • “Angry Again”
  • “Sweating Bullets”
  • “She-Wolf”
  • “Skin o’ My Teeth”
  • “Trust”
  • “Countdown to Extinction”
  • “Tornado of Souls”
  • “We’ll Be Back”
  • “Peace Sells”
  • “Symphony of Destruction”

The new footage and recent live shows come as Megadeth is reportedly “putting the finishing touches” on their new album. The highly anticipated follow-up to 2022’s The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! sees the band once again collaborating with producer Chris Rakestraw. The album will also be the first to be released on frontman Dave Mustaine‘s new label imprint, Tradecraft, in partnership with Frontiers Label Group. The record will be the first full-length studio effort to feature Finnish guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, who joined the lineup of Mustaine, bassist James LoMenzo, and drummer Dirk Verbeuren in late 2023.

Following their summer festival appearances, Megadeth is set to embark on a major headlining tour of Europe and the UK this fall, kicking off in Istanbul in late September.
