Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil has spoken publicly for the first time about the serious health issue that sidelined him last holiday season. The 64-year-old frontman revealed he suffered a stroke at Christmas, an ordeal that forced the band to push back their planned Las Vegas residency.
Initially, the March–April 2025 residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM was postponed due to what was described as a “medical procedure.” Now, Neil has shared the true extent of his struggle in an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal: “I had a stroke. My whole left side went out… I had to learn to walk again, and that was tough. The doctors said they didn’t think I’d be able to go back on stage again. I go, ‘No, no, I’m gonna do it. Watch and see.'”
Neil explained that recovery took months of determination, starting with being carried to the bathroom, then moving from a wheelchair to a walker, and eventually to a cane before regaining full mobility.
“It’s like a full-time job getting back to where you feel good again,” he said.
The Crüe frontman worked with a football coach in Nashville to rebuild his stamina, incorporating running and physical therapy into his routine. He now estimates he’s “90 to 95 percent” back to where he was before the stroke and is eager to return to the stage.
Neil’s comeback began on August 1, 2025, when he played his first solo show in nearly a year at Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway. Before that, his most recent live appearance had been with Mötley Crüe at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento in October 2024.
Fans can look forward to the band’s rescheduled Las Vegas residency, now set for September 12 through October 3, 2025. All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new dates.
