Swedish death metal titans Unleashed are set to once again stake their claim as undisputed guardians of the genre with the announcement of their 15th studio album, Fire Upon Your Lands. The highly anticipated record is scheduled for release on August 15, 2025, via Napalm Records. To mark the news, the band has unleashed the lead single and accompanying music video for the track “War Comes Again.”

The new single, “War Comes Again,” is described as a “feral war cry echoing from the gates of Valhalla, surging with apocalyptic force.” Unleashed themselves elaborated on the song’s theme: “When your enemies do their best to take everything away from you and things look as bad as they can get, you prepare for battle and face the enemy head on! This is fundamentally what being a warrior is all about. You know it’s inevitable that war will come again… and again.”

Fire Upon Your Lands continues the epic storyline from the World of Odalheim, where the Midgard Warriors battle their main enemy, “White Christ.” The band promises “11 songs of pure Viking Death Metal,” fusing furious blast beats, searing riffs, and Johnny Hedlund‘s commanding growls. Tracks like the opener “Left For Dead” plunge listeners into battle, while songs such as “A Toast To The Fallen” offer powerful tributes, and the anthemic “Hold Your Hammers High!” serves as a Viking battle hymn.

In a collective statement, Unleashed said: “Fire Upon Your Lands is our 15th album in 37 years. It is also a continuation of the storyline from the World of Odalheim… We hope you appreciate this new Blot of 11 songs of pure Viking Death Metal. See you all on the road!”

The tracklisting for Fire Upon Your Lands is as follows:

  1. “Left For Dead”
  2. “A Toast To The Fallen”
  3. “The Road To Haifa Pier”
  4. “War Comes Again”
  5. “Fire Upon Your Lands”

  7. “Midjardarhaf”
  8. “Hail The Varangians!”
  9. “To My Only Son”

The album will be available in various formats, including limited edition vinyl pressings, a 6-page Digipack, and digitally. Pre-orders are currently available.
