Two New Nine Inch Nails Cover Albums Released Featuring Between The Buried And Me, Author & Punisher, Black Tusk And More

Magnetic Eye Records has officially unleashed its latest ambitious project: a dual-album tribute to industrial metal pioneers Nine Inch Nails. As part of the label’s ongoing “Redux” series, which reimagines classic albums with a heavy, modern twist, two distinct compilations have dropped today, featuring contributions from Between The Buried And Me, Author & Punisher, Thou, and many more.

The centerpiece of the release is The Downward Spiral [Redux], a track-for-track recreation of Trent Reznor’s 1994 multi-platinum masterpiece. This collection sees sludge metal outfit Black Tusk tackling the aggressive opener “Mr. Self Destruct“, while industrial doom artist Author & Punisher lends his mechanical weight to “Reptile“. Progressive metal veterans Between The Buried And Me have the honor of closing out the album with their rendition of the iconic “Hurt“.

Simultaneously, the label has released Best Of Nine Inch Nails Redux, a companion anthology that explores the rest of the band’s storied catalog. This collection features an eclectic mix of artists, including post-metal collective The Ocean covering “Even Deeper” and sludge doom heavyweights Thou taking on “Su*k“.
