The newly revamped lineup for Twisted Sister‘s upcoming fall 2026 performances continues to take shape. Following the massive announcement that former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach will be handling lead vocals, it has now been officially confirmed that Joey Cassata will be sitting behind the drum kit.
Cassata, who played drums on Ace Frehley‘s solo album 10,000 Volts, took to social media earlier yesterday to share his excitement about joining the heavy metal legends on stage.
“SUPER excited (and beyond honored) to be drumming for this LEGENDARY band!!”
“I’ve been an SMF since I was 8 years old… and now this?! Absolutely surreal.”
“YOU CAN’T STOP ROCK AND ROLL!!”
“Let’s gooooo!!!”
Joey Cassata has built an incredibly diverse and impressive resume over the years. His lifelong passion for music was ignited at just five years old when he saw Kiss perform at Madison Square Garden. Decades later, his band ZO2 actually secured the opening slot for a 50-show tour with Kiss in 2004.
Following that tour, ZO2 starred in their own television series, “Z Rock,” which notably featured guest appearances from Joan Rivers, Gilbert Gottfried, Dave Navarro, Daryl Hall, and his new Twisted Sister bandmate, Sebastian Bach. Transitioning from rock clubs to theater, Cassata also later performed in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812” alongside Grammy Award winner Josh Groban.
Twisted Sister was initially scheduled to perform a series of reunion shows starting in April 2026, featuring core members Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, and Eddie Ojeda. Longtime bassist Mark “The Animal” Mendoza opted out of the celebration, with Russell Pzütto tapped to take his place. Additionally, Joe Franco—who had a brief stint with the band in the 1980s—was originally slated to play drums in honor of the late A.J. Pero, who passed away in 2015.
However, the band was forced to cancel their spring and early summer dates on February 5 after Dee Snider suddenly resigned due to health issues. Now, with Sebastian Bach officially stepping up to the microphone for a select handful of fall dates and Joey Cassata holding down the rhythm section, the shows are back on track.
The band has assured fans that these upcoming performances will not interfere with Sebastian Bach‘s ongoing solo touring schedule, which remains completely intact.
