The first piece of Twisted Sister‘s 50th-anniversary puzzle has been revealed, as the legendary rock band has been confirmed for a headlining performance at Spain’s Barcelona Rock Fest in July 2026. This is the first officially announced date for their highly anticipated reunion tour, a run for which frontman Dee Snider promises a new, “age-appropriate” look and for which he vows, “I’ll be ready.”
The festival, which celebrates its own 10th anniversary in 2026, takes place from July 3 to 5 and has also confirmed German metal acts Accept, Helloween, and Powerwolf. This booking is the first concrete date to emerge for the band’s global reunion, which was announced last week.
While a full list of dates is still forthcoming, founding guitarist Jay Jay French recently confirmed the tour’s general timeline. “We’re gonna kick off [with] an American show sometime in May, I believe,” he said. “All the rest of them are gonna be headlining the bigger shows in Europe.”
In a recent interview, Dee Snider offered a glimpse of what fans can expect from the 50th-anniversary shows, including a nod to their iconic 1980s look. He revealed his wife and longtime costume designer, Suzette Snider, is creating new stage wear.
“She’s not saying we should go back to what we wore in the ’80s, but she said, ‘I think that you should pay homage,'” Snider explained. “Maybe age-appropriate, some lipstick on the teeth like your old aunt.”
The 71-year-old frontman, who initiated the reunion after a personal health scare, also acknowledged the physical challenge of returning to his high-energy stage persona after a decade.
“Right now it’s off-season. It’s been off-season for a while,” he admitted. “But I’m not about to embarrass myself. I can’t. I can’t disappoint people. I can’t disappoint myself. So I’ll be ready.”
The 2026 reunion will feature the core Twisted Sister trio of Snider, Jay Jay French, and guitarist Eddie Ojeda, with the lineup rounded out by returning drummer Joe Franco and bassist Russell Pzütto. With the first date now officially on the books, the countdown to the triumphant return of Twisted Sister has begun.
