Tom Morello has called off the rest of his European and UK tour after his 102-year-old mother, Mary Morello, was once again admitted to the hospital. The Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave guitarist is heading home to be by her side.
Morello shared the news in a social media post on June 25, telling fans that his mother’s health had taken another turn.
“Dear friends, fans and comrades, my dear mom, Mary Morello is back in the hospital and I’m headed home to help look after her. Rocking the UK & Europe with you all this summer has been incredible and I cant wait to be back with you and continue this movement that we started. With much love, unity and power.

“Tom will not be appearing on Tons of Rock Festival or BBK Music Legends Festival. Refunds for the headline London and Paris shows will be available at point of purchase.”
As a result, Morello will no longer appear at the Tons of Rock Festival in Oslo, Norway or the BBK Music Legends Festival in Bilbao, Spain. Refunds for his headline shows in London and Paris will be available at the original point of purchase.
This is the second time this month that Morello has had to step away from the road for his mother. Earlier in June, he postponed headline concerts in London and Paris due to what he described at the time as a family medical emergency, returning home to be with Mary during the scare.
Days later, he told fans her condition had improved and that she had personally sent him back to work.
“I am sorry I had to miss a few shows due to my mom’s health. The incredibly resilient, indefatigable Mary Morello at 102 is now feeling somewhat better and has ordered me back into the fray, charging me with rocking you and fighting fascism six strings at a time. I’m on my way and will perform at Pink Pop, and God willing, beyond,” he said at the time.
With that brief recovery, Morello had returned to the stage and announced a set of rescheduled dates. Now, with Mary back in the hospital, those plans have been put on hold once more.
While his immediate European festival dates are off, Morello still has a number of shows on the books later in the year. He is currently slated to play the Newport Folk Festival in Newport, Rhode Island in July, followed by rescheduled North American headline dates at Cannery Hall in Nashville on September 18 and The Rave / Eagles Club in Milwaukee on September 20. He is also set to appear at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky.
The cancellation arrives during an active period for the guitarist. Morello recently joined forces with System Of A Down vocalist Serj Tankian and his own 15-year-old son, Roman Morello, on a new protest track titled “AJOURN IT“.
All three are scheduled to perform at the upcoming Power To The People festival, an event curated by Morello that takes place on October 3, 2026 at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. Billed as a non-partisan celebration of peace, justice, solidarity, music and community action, the festival features a high-profile lineup including Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters and Dave Matthews, and serves as counterprogramming to events aligned with the current U.S. administration. The gathering will also host a “Freedom Village” for advocacy groups and nonprofits, with a portion of VIP ticket proceeds going to HeadCount and VoteRiders, two organizations focused on voter registration and access.
For now, Morello‘s focus is firmly on family, with fans wishing Mary Morello a swift recovery.
