Testament appear to be wasting no time capitalizing on their momentum. Even after issuing their fourteenth studio album Para Bellum last October, the Bay Area thrash veterans have already come up with roughly eight new song ideas.
Frontman Chuck Billy discussed the band’s ongoing writing progress in a recent interview with “Little Punk People,” saying (as transcribed by theprp):
“Eric [Peterson, Testament guitarist/vocalist] and Chris [Dovas, Testament drummer] actually have been working on a future record. I got a call from Eric yesterday saying Chris just got home, and ‘Oh, me and Chris got about six more tunes ready to go and they already had two to start. So they’re already on their way to another record, ya know?”
Billy continued: “I’m kind of fired up because it’s been a long time to come really quick with writing music. But it’s been working and feeling really good with Chris, so we’re like, why not? You know, we’re not on the road yet, so we’re gonna get busy. So, right now, let’s take advantage of that and, you know, write some more music. Why not?”
Testament are currently on the road in support of their latest studio effort, Para Bellum, which arrived on October 10 through Nuclear Blast. The group has also unveiled the U.S. leg of their upcoming “Thrash Of The Titans” world tour. Set to launch in March 2026, the run will see Testament share the stage with fellow thrash veterans Overkill and Destruction for a near month-long trek celebrating the genre’s legacy.
