Stray From The Path Release Surprise Album, Announce Breakup, Slam Disturbed’s David Draiman In A Song For One Last Time

Stray From The Path drop surprise final album ‘Clockworked’ and announce breakup after 20+ years, with a track aimed at Disturbed’s David Draiman.

Stray From The Path 2025

Unapologetic hardcore outfit Stray From The Path has delivered two bombshells at once: the surprise release of their final studio album, Clockworked, and the announcement that the band will be breaking up after more than two decades. The new album, released today via SharpTone Records, features a track directly targeting Disturbed frontman David Draiman.

In a statement, the band confirmed their intention to end their run after a final tour cycle, emphasizing that the decision was amicable.

“The four of us, Anthony, Craig, Drew and Tom, have been touring together as a unit for almost 10 years, and now it feels like the right time to put the band to rest,” the statement reads. “We get to go out on our own accord, on a final record and do some final tours celebrating the band one last time with the people who gave us a great career… This is a mutual decision — there’s no bad blood, we love each other, and we love you all. In the next couple weeks, we will be announcing our final tour dates, and after 2025, we will be putting the band to rest.”

True to form, Stray From The Path is not leaving quietly. A track on Clockworked titled “Can I Have Your Autograph?” takes direct aim at David Draiman for signing b*mbs in late 2023 that were intended for use in Gaza. The song’s lyrics include the scathing line, “You put your name on that b*mb/I put a target on your f***ing back.” The track broadly criticizes the music industry for excusing the actions of popular artists.

This is not the first time the band has addressed the issue. In January 2024, Stray From The Path drummer Craig Reynolds made a social media post alluding to the incident, after which Draiman promptly blocked him.

Regarding the themes of the final album, guitarist Tom Williams told Rocksound, “It’s really just about the stuff that is affecting us and the stuff that we see is happening. It’s getting hard to live, and it’s hard to survive, and that’s what we want to speak up on. It’s typical of Stray, but that’s just the way we are.”
