Steven Tyler And Soundgarden Members Join Lineup For Black Sabbath’s Final Concert

The lineup for Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne‘s final farewell show on July 5th continues to expand, adding even more star power to what promises to be a historic night. Sharon Osbourne revealed to The Guardian that Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and members of Soundgarden are the latest additions to the “Back To The Beginning” charity event at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK.

This concert marks the final performance for Ozzy Osbourne and the first time the original Black Sabbath lineup – Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward – will perform together in two decades.

The guest list for this monumental send-off is staggering, featuring an array of rock and metal giants alongside the core Black Sabbath performance. The confirmed lineup now includes:

Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice in Chains, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Mastodon, and Rival Sons.

Joining them will be a remarkable gathering of individual artists: Andrew Watt, Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Dave Ellefson, David Draiman (Disturbed), Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit), Izzy Hale (Halestorm), Jake E. Lee, Jonathan Davis (Korn), KK Downing, Mike Bordin (Faith No More), Papa V Perpetua (Ghost), Rudy Sarzo, Sammy Hagar, II (Sleep Token), Tom Morello, Vernon Reid (Living Colour), Whitfield Crane (Ugly Kid Joe), and Wolfgang Van Halen, alongside the newly announced Steven Tyler and Soundgarden members.”

Despite his ongoing, well-documented health battles including Parkinson’s disease and recovery from multiple surgeries, the 76-year-old Osbourne remains committed to taking the stage. I’ll be there, and I’ll do the best I can. So all I can do is turn up, he stated firmly in The Guardian interview.

He continues to push himself physically, detailing his training regimen: I do weights, bike riding, I’ve got a guy living at my house who’s working with me. It’s tough – I’ve been laid up for such a long time… It’s like starting all over again. I’ve got a vocal coach coming round four days a week to keep my voice going.” Acknowledging his limitations, he added, “I have problems walking… I don’t think I’ll be doing much jumping or running around this time. I may be sitting down, but the point is I’ll be there…” Osbourne has also indicated that his and Sabbath‘s contributions will be more of a “sample” rather than full sets.

Crucially, Osbourne confirmed that despite previous farewells, this time truly marks the end of his touring career. “I’d love to say ‘never say never’, but after the last six years or so … it is time,” he declared. Citing fatigue with road life after five decades and a changed, sober lifestyle, his focus is now elsewhere. “I lived on the road for 50-odd years, and I’ve kind of got used to not picking up my bags and getting on the bus again… It’s time for me to spend some time with my grandkids, I don’t want to die in a hotel room somewhere. I want to spend the rest of my life with my family.”

The “Back To The Beginning” concert on July 5th is shaping up to be an emotional and unforgettable conclusion to Ozzy Osbourne‘s legendary career, celebrated by an unprecedented gathering of his peers and musical descendants.
