Steven Tyler And Joe Perry Perform Together Again Since 2023 (Video)

After almost two years apart, Aerosmith icons Steven Tyler and Joe Perry shared a stage once again on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025. The reunion took place during a special private concert in San Francisco, California, hosted by Tyler himself. This significant performance was held to benefit Janie’s Fund, Tyler‘s charitable organization dedicated to aiding girls and young women affected by trauma.

The exclusive event wasn’t just about the Aerosmith duo; it featured a stellar lineup of rock royalty joining the cause. Guests included Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, Robin Zander from Cheap Trick, former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum, Extreme‘s guitar virtuoso Nuno Bettencourt, Megadeth bassist James LoMenzo, and Bon Jovi guitarist Phil X, among others.

The night featured distinct sets from the guest singers before culminating in the Tyler/Perry reunion for classic Aerosmith hits.

This reunion performance holds particular significance following Aerosmith‘s announcement last August that they would be retiring permanently from touring. The decision came after Steven Tyler suffered a fractured larynx during a concert in September 2023. Despite extensive medical treatment, the injury prevented a full recovery of his vocal abilities, making touring impossible.

The band shared their heartfelt reasons in a statement:

“It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades. Some of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock ‘n’ roll history.”

“It has been the honor of our lives to have our music become part of yours. In every club, on every massive tour and at moments grand and private you have given us a place in the soundtrack of your lives.”

“We’ve always wanted to blow your mind when performing. As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision – as a band of brothers – to retire from the touring stage.”

“We are grateful beyond words for everyone who was pumped to get on the road with us one last time. Grateful to our expert crew, our incredible team and the thousands of talented people who’ve made our historic runs possible. A final thank you to you – the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music loud, now and always. Dream On. You’ve made our dreams come true.”

While the band’s touring days are over, the San Francisco benefit show offered a rare and special glimpse of Tyler and Perry performing together, all in the name of a worthy cause.
