Former Exodus frontman Steve “Zetro” Souza took the stage with his solo band on Saturday, January 24, delivering a performance at The Ballroom at The Grand Theater in Anaheim, California. Fan-recorded footage from the show is available below, courtesy of Walter Morgan.
Souza is also scheduled to appear with his solo band on Monday, January 26, when he performs at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, California.
When the San Francisco date was initially announced last month, Zetro shared the following statement:
“Well, Bay Area, I have booked a home show. Monday, January 26 at the Great American Music Hall. Absolutely honored to play that place with my solo band for the very first time, I will be playing old school Exodus deep cuts that have not been played in a long time. I’m also playing most of the Legacy demo and some other Legacy/Testament songs. Joining me on the show will be the guys from Phantom Witch. I hope to see the Bay Area come out strong for the show. See you guys in the pit.”
Souza has been vocal about his intention to differentiate his solo performances from a standard Exodus concert. Speaking via his YouTube channel, “Zetro’s Toxic Vault,” he elaborated on the curation process for these upcoming shows, promising a setlist tailored for die-hard fans who crave the obscure.
“I’ll be playing a lot of Exodus, a lot of deep cuts, a lot of songs that I’ve seen you guys, over the years through social media, chime in about wanting to hear,” Zetro explained. “So that’s what you will see… This will be an old-school evening of Bay Area thrash metal. I’ve even got a couple of very obscure [ones] because I think the Legacy [pre-]Testament songs that I’m playing don’t necessarily get played all the time anymore.”
He further clarified that while staples like “The Toxic Waltz” will likely make an appearance, the bulk of the 16-to-17-song set will focus on material that has gathered dust for decades.
“I would have to say, out of the Exodus songs that I have chosen, you’ve probably heard me — and I’m only gonna go on the last 10 years since I was back from 2014 until just six months, seven months ago — I would say there’s maybe only three or four that you have heard me sing in the set in the past. Everything else has not been played for a long time… I know one song I can’t even remember playing ever.”
Souza is backed by the same lineup that supported him during his initial solo outings in Florida last September:

Souza will also head overseas for a three-date tour of Australia in early February.
