In celebration of the 25th anniversary of their seminal debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip, industrial metal icons Static-X have announced the release of a limited-edition box set. The album, which launched the band to mainstream success in 1999, will be re-released on December 12 as Wisconsin Death Trip (25th Anniversary Corrosive Edition).
This comprehensive set is a deep dive into the band’s history and creative process. For this special reissue, the band has reunited with original producer Ulrich Wild for a complete remaster of the album’s audio. In addition to the original tracks, the box set will include a second disc of rare and unreleased material, featuring demos, alternate versions, and other exclusive tracks that extend the total runtime to over 70 minutes.
The visual presentation is equally meticulous. Original photographer Exum has contributed hundreds of never-before-seen photos from the album’s photo shoot, which have been used to create a completely redesigned packaging experience. The centerpiece of the collection is a set of two orange-and-black eclipse vinyl records, a nod to the band’s signature aesthetic. Deluxe versions of the box set will also include a range of unique collectibles, such as signed prints, a laser-engraved ID tag, a pill bottle, and an ID bracelet with a QR code that links to exclusive video footage. These items are available exclusively through the band’s official website.
The anniversary comes as Static-X continues to enjoy a resurgence in popularity. The band recently celebrated the gold certification of their hit single “Push It,” with projections showing it is on track to soon reach platinum status. In conjunction with the anniversary, Warner Records has also reissued the song’s iconic clay-animated music video in high definition, allowing a new generation of fans to experience the video that helped propel the band to early fame on MTV.
The celebration of Wisconsin Death Trip extends beyond the studio. The band’s current touring lineup—featuring original members Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda, and Ken Jay—will be on the road throughout 2025. They are slated to support Mudvayne on tour this fall, with additional appearances at major festivals like Louder Than Life and Aftershock. The band, fronted by the masked and mysterious vocalist Xer0, will also perform a number of headline shows with support from Dope. Rumors have long suggested that Edsel Dope of the band Dope is the man behind the Xer0 mask.
