Spinal Tap Announce ‘Final Finale’ Stonehenge Concert Film Featuring Eric Clapton, Shania Twain

The legendary British rock band Spinal Tap has announced a new concert movie documenting what is being billed as their “final ever live show.” The film, titled “Spinal Tap At Stonehenge: The Final Finale“, was filmed at the iconic prehistoric monument and will feature guest appearances from Eric Clapton, Shania Twain, and Josh Groban. The movie is scheduled for an IMAX release in 2026.

The announcement follows the release of last month’s sequel film, “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.” This new concert film, however, captures the band’s actual performance at Stonehenge in August, finally rectifying their infamous, comically undersized stage prop from the original 1984 film.

The film’s producers acknowledged the band’s long and satirical history of “final” performances. “I’m told this is it. They’re really serious this time,” said Kent Sanderson, CEO of filmmakers Bleecker Street. He also joked that the famous landmark seems to have been built for this exact moment.

“While this is ostensibly the end, how fitting is it that this actual-probable-send-off is shot, historically, at Stonehenge, the mysterious landmark that we now know must have been erected thousands of years ago purely to serve as the setting for the last act of Spinal Tap.”

Ian Brenchle, CEO of Vertigo Live, which captured the concert, emphasized the monumental scale of the event. “Bringing Spinal Tap to Stonehenge felt inevitable – the ultimate meeting of rock mythology and cinematic scale,” Brenchle said.

He noted that the goal was to take the band “beyond the ordinary, and turn it into living cinema,” adding that the IMAX presentation would, of course, be “turned up to eleven” and serve as “the perfect finale to rock’s most enduring legend.”

“An iconic band performing at one of the world’s most legendary landmarks, captured in IMAX and, of course, turned up to eleven. This is exactly what we set out to do: take music beyond the stage, beyond the ordinary, and turn it into living cinema. An experience unlike anything before it – and the perfect finale to rock’s most enduring legend.”

A specific 2026 release date for “Spinal Tap At Stonehenge: The Final Finale” has not yet been confirmed.
