Brent Smith from Shinedown said: “Barry, Zach, Eric and I have waited for this opportunity to be a headliner at Sonic Temple for a very long time. We are going to go all out for this performance. We know the fans have very high expectations. So with that being said, we are going to give all of Ohio everything we’ve got!!!! Thank you to Danny Wimmer for this incredible opportunity!!! LET’S GO SHINEDOWN NATION.”
As with previous years, the undercard features an enormous, diverse lineup of over 140 bands. The gargantuan bill includes heavy hitters like Lamb of God, Halestorm, Motionless In White, and Coheed and Cambria.
Metal legends are well-represented, with Anthrax, Sepultura, Dethklok, Body Count feat. Ice-T, and Public Enemy all scheduled to perform. The lineup also digs deep into 90s and 00s rock nostalgia with Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, Sublime, Alter Bridge, and Coal Chamber.
Furthermore, the festival will feature a strong contingent of emo and pop-punk acts, including Yellowcard, Simple Plan, The Used, New Found Glory, and Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm. The heavy end of the spectrum is rounded out by Lorna Shore, Electric Callboy, Dying Fetus, Carcass, and Behemoth.
Emphasizing the “Art” component of its name, Sonic Temple will again feature live murals, art installations, and the Art Boutique. Artists Terry Urban and Jay Howell (of “Bob’s Burgers” fame) are confirmed to be involved.
Fan-favorite experiences are also set to return, including the Caduceus Wine Garden presented by Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan, and the popular Dive Bar.
