Slipknot is gearing up to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their seminal self-titled debut with a deluxe reissue that offers fans a rare look into the band’s formative years. Titled Slipknot (25th Anniversary Edition), the upcoming package, set to be released on September 5, 2025, serves as a comprehensive chronicle of the nine’s meteoric rise and the creative chaos that fueled their groundbreaking album.

As an initial preview of the re-release, the band has made an unreleased demo of their track “Me Inside” available to the public. This raw version, recorded before the band’s sessions with producer Ross Robinson, provides a glimpse into the raw intensity that would eventually define the final album.

The anniversary collection is designed as a time capsule, packed with rare and previously unreleased material that charts the band’s journey from a local Iowa act to a global phenomenon. In addition to the original album, fans will have access to the legendary Indigo Ranch mixes, which showcase the raw, early takes on songs like “Wait and Bleed” and “Scissors.” The reissue also includes a series of original demos, alternate mixes, and test versions, offering a deep dive into the band’s creative process and the sonic choices that shaped their sound.

Beyond the studio recordings, the deluxe edition features a trove of live recordings that capture the band’s infamous early live performances. The collection includes a show from a small stage in Hartford, CT, in 1999, which documents the band’s ferocious energy in a cramped setting. This is contrasted with recordings from their 2000 UK shows, which demonstrate how the band successfully scaled their chaotic stage presence for massive crowds. The live audio was sourced directly from the soundboards, remixed, and mastered to preserve the raw, unfiltered intensity of the shows.

The special edition will be available in multiple formats, including 2CD and 2LP sets, as well as a limited-edition 6LP box set on blood-splattered vinyl. A limited run of 100 blood-filled vinyl copies, sold through a secret website, sold out in seconds, crashing the site and proving that even a quarter-century later, demand for Slipknot‘s earliest material remains at a fever pitch.
