Recently, Slipknot percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan reaffirmed that the band is still aiming to release a compilation of 11 unheard songs created by four members during their All Hope Is Gone album sessions in 2008. This exciting project has fans eagerly anticipating its arrival!
In 2018, Crahan made a groundbreaking announcement that he had been recording psychedelic-style music with Corey Taylor (singer), Jim Root (guitarist) and Sid Wilson (DJ) during their All Hope Is Gone session.
In a conversation with Upset magazine, Crahan unveiled his plan to publish unheard music–titled Look Outside Your Window–in the near future.
He said: “It’s an amazing body of work. You will never hear another Corey Taylor like this. The music and the words… it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life.”
“We wouldn’t want Slipknot to hurt Look Outside Your Window, and we wouldn’t want Look Outside Your Window to be a little irritation to Slipknot. Why? Because it’s beautiful God art and people deserve it,” he continued. “The good news is that six months from now, April Fool’s Day 2023, we’re off the label.
“There are no plans to immediately release something, and we haven’t talked about it, but I would imagine it’ll probably come very soon afterwards. There’s nothing else to do, and it’s ready to go. It’ll be worth the wait.”
Taylor explained to SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk” in 2021 that the content for Look Outside Your Window is experimental, vibrantly upbeat and super melodic.
“There’s something about those songs. They’re very solemn, very energetic, very artistic,” Corey said. “For people who are used to a certain way of Slipknot sounding, this doesn’t sound anything like that. It’s much more of a rock vibe. Honestly, it’s much more of a Radiohead vibe, to be honest.”
