Slipknot fans were left stunned this past weekend when the band launched an ultra-limited 6-LP 25th Anniversary Blood Filled Box Set — which sold out within minutes. The release, capped at only 100 copies, quickly sparked frustration across the fanbase due to its extreme scarcity.
However, there’s good news for those who missed out: the band has confirmed via 742617000027.net that an additional 1,899 copies of the box set will go on sale tomorrow, July 22 at 03:00 PM EST / 12:00 PM PST / 08:00 PM UK time / 09:00 PM EU time.
For weeks, fans speculated about the band’s cryptic countdown on 742617000027.net, expecting a special reissue of the band’s 1999 self-titled debut. When the timer hit zero on July 21, many were met with server crashes and technical errors, leaving them unable to access the announcement.
Once the website stabilized, Slipknot revealed the 25th Anniversary Blood Filled Box Set, priced at $249.99 and featuring a whopping 59 tracks spread across six colored vinyl LPs, including more than 40 previously unreleased songs. The set also includes Indigo Ranch demos, alternate mixes, and rare live cuts from 1999–2000, plus nine exclusive photo cards with never-before-seen band images.
The initial batch of 100 copies was gone in minutes, leaving many fans outraged by the exclusivity. Social media and Reddit were flooded with comments criticizing the release:
- “That’s pretty good. Tease us up on a faulty website and sell us what we really don’t necessarily need. Starting to approach Kiss levels.”
- “What a scam and a joke.”
- “Well that was a joke and a waste of time for everyone, thanks so much.”
The announcement of 1,899 additional copies being made available has eased some tension, but fans are still calling for a digital or less exclusive vinyl release so that more of the Maggot community can enjoy this rare material.
