The enigmatic and acclaimed collective Sleep Token has offered fans one last glimpse into their new era with the release of the single “Damocles”. Released today (April 25th), the track serves as the final preview before their highly anticipated album, Even In Arcadia, drops on May 9th via RCA Records.
Described as delving into themes of “quiet unraveling beneath the surface,” “Damocles” reportedly captures the weight of unseen struggle and the poignant echo of faded grandeur. Employing their signature blend of mystique and vulnerability, the song aims to set an emotional tone, inviting listeners, according to the band’s announcement, “to confront what lies beneath the mask.”
“Damocles” follows the successful previous singles “Emergence” and “Caramel”. Both tracks made significant impacts, cracking the Billboard Hot 100 and each hitting No. 1 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart. This achievement made Sleep Token one of only three artists to replace themselves at the top spot since the chart’s inception in June 2020, underscoring the band’s rapidly growing momentum.
The upcoming album, Even In Arcadia, is poised to continue the narrative journey started on their previous record, “Take Me Back To Eden“. The band previously stated the goal for this new chapter:
“This new chapter follows “Take Me Back To Eden” and continues the unfolding journey, where Sleep Token further intertwines the boundaries of sound and emotion, dissolving into something otherworldly.”
Adding to the intrigue, the album’s official tracklist was recently unveiled through a unique collaboration with Spotify, involving puzzles across social media platforms that allowed fans to piece together the song order.

Known for performing anonymously in masks and cloaks since their formation in London in 2016, Sleep Token (primarily credited to vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Vessel and drummer II) are preparing for significant live activity. They will embark on their first-ever U.S. arena tour this fall. The “Even In Arcadia” tour, presented by AEG Presents, is completely sold out and marks their only headline run for 2025. They will also appear at several major festivals.
