Thrash metal icons Slayer brought their legendary energy to the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky, on Thursday, September 18.
This performance marked the band’s fourth full show of 2025, following massive appearances at Blackweir Fields in Cardiff (35,000 capacity), Finsbury Park in London (45,000 capacity), and Festival D’été De Québec in Canada (100,000 capacity). Earlier this summer, Slayer also celebrated Black Sabbath’s career with a six-song tribute set at Sabbath’s sold-out “Back To The Beginning” farewell concert on July 5 at Villa Park, Birmingham, England.
Originally, Slayer was scheduled to perform at Louder Than Life in 2024, but severe weather forced the cancellation of that appearance.
The band’s lineup for the 2024–2025 comeback tour mirrors the group that last toured in 2019: Tom Araya on bass and vocals, Kerry King on guitar, Gary Holt on guitar, and Paul Bostaph on drums.

Slayer’s only East Coast U.S. stop in 2025 is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania (30,000 capacity). WWE star Damian Priest, a longtime fan of the band, will host the event. Priest’s signature finishing move uses Slayer’s “South Of Heaven,” and Kerry King previously contributed guitar to Priest’s theme, “Rise For The Night.”
The Hershey lineup also features Knocked Loose, Suicidal Tendencies, Power Trip, Cavalera (performing Sepultura’s Chaos A.D. album), and Exodus (performing Bonded By Blood).
