Slayer have sparked speculation about a new set of Latin American live dates after a brief teaser video posted online, highlighting several major cities across the region and pointing to an official announcement set for May 29.
Unlike a traditional announcement, the clip doesn’t spell out venues or schedules. Instead, it flashes a sequence of city names — Bogotá, Santiago, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, and Mexico City — creating a clear but still incomplete picture of what’s to come. The inclusion of both South and North American stops strongly indicates a Latin American slate of appearances rather than a country-specific run.
These potential new dates arrive during a particularly active phase of Slayer’s ongoing return to the stage. The band has been celebrating the 40th anniversary of their landmark album Reign In Blood with special full-album performances, revisiting one of the most influential thrash metal records ever recorded in a live setting.
That anniversary run includes a scheduled appearance on September 4 in Shakopee, Minnesota, followed by two nights in Los Angeles on November 13 and 14. The Los Angeles shows will feature support from Cannibal Corpse, Cavalera, and Crowbar, while the Minnesota date will include Down, Suicidal Tendencies, and Hatebreed.
Since reactivating their live presence in 2024, Slayer have maintained a selective approach, avoiding the framing of a full-scale comeback in favor of carefully chosen high-profile appearances. Their recent run has already included major festival slots and headline shows across North America and Europe, including stops at Hersheypark Stadium and the Louder Than Life festival.
They also took part in a landmark moment for heavy music in 2025, performing a six-song set at Black Sabbath’s “Back To The Beginning” farewell concert on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, England — a performance that further reinforced their legacy alongside metal’s most influential acts.
All appearances continue to feature the band’s established live lineup from their final touring era: Tom Araya, Kerry King, Gary Holt, and Paul Bostaph, keeping continuity intact throughout their post-retirement live activity.
