For the first time in nearly two decades, Japanese extreme metal vanguard Sigh is set to embark on a highly anticipated U.S. tour. The week-long trek will commence this summer at the immersive Fire in the Mountains festival before heading to the West Coast for a series of club dates. Joining them as direct support will be the Denver-based progressive metal outfit Dreadnought.

The upcoming 2026 run marks a significant milestone for Sigh, bringing their signature “Asian horror theater” stage production back to American audiences. Addressing the forthcoming dates, frontman Mirai Kawashima expressed his enthusiasm:

“I am really excited that Sigh are finally touring the US again. We played at some US festivals, but the last ‘tour’ was in 2008, so this is going to be the first US tour in nearly 2 decades! I am 100% sure that now we have the strongest line-up ever during our 36-year career. Definitely you have never seen a stage like ours before. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the Asian horror theater.”

The tour presents an equally momentous opportunity for the supporting act. Dreadnought vocalist and guitarist Kelly Schilling shared her excitement for the shows, teasing unreleased material for attendees:

“We are honored to join the legends Sigh on tour following our Fire in the Mountains appearance! We will be performing new music in anticipation of something new to come…”

The tour will officially kick off deep in the remote wilderness near Glacier National Park in Montana, a region known to the Blackfeet Nation as “The Backbone of the World.” This unique setting serves as the home for the Fire in the Mountains festival, an event designed to reconnect heavy music fans with nature by combining art, education, and performances under the open sky.

In addition to Sigh and Dreadnought, the festival’s stacked 2026 billing includes performances from 16 Horsepower, Enslaved, Baroness, Borknagar, Yob, The Ruins of Beverast, SubRosa, Full of Hell, Gallowbraid, Wayfarer, Old Man Gloom, Midwife, Phobophilic, Tarantella, Yaotl Mictlan, Savage Oath, Galvanist, Nocturne, and El Welk, alongside a set from Raven Chacon and Igor Cavalera.

Following the festival appearance, Sigh and Dreadnought will route through Washington, Oregon, and California.

  • July 28 – Portland, OR – Star Theater
