British rocker Yungblud received a trio of nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards, but one nod carries a profound emotional weight. His all-star live performance of the Black Sabbath classic “Changes,” from the late Ozzy Osbourne‘s “Back To The Beginning” farewell concert, was nominated for Best Rock Performance.

Sharon Osbourne, who helped present the 2026 nominations, quickly took to social media to share a heartfelt message with Yungblud, who had become a protégé of the Osbourne family.

“I’m so proud of you. It’s just amazing and I know Ozzy is smiling down at you. Love you always, Sharon

Yungblud himself posted a reaction over the weekend, acknowledging his other nominations—Idols for Best Rock Album and “Zombie” for Best Rock Song—before directing his gratitude squarely at the Osbourne family for giving him the opportunity.

“They’ve nominated ‘CHANGES at Villa Park’ for best rock performance at the Grammys, ‘IDOLS‘ for best rock album and ‘ZOMBIE‘ for best rock song. Thank you to you and your family for giving me the opportunity you did and your stage to show the world what I could do. Thank you for teaching us all how to dream and never compromise. From one madman from England to another I love you OZ and I hope one day I can show you how much.”

The nominated performance was a standout moment from the July 2025 tribute show. Yungblud fronted a supergroup for the 1972 Sabbath ballad, which included guitarist Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), bassist Frank Bello (Anthrax), Sleep Token’s drummer II, and Adam Wakeman (Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath).

The Osbournes famously took Yungblud under their wing, with both Ozzy and Sharon making a high-profile appearance in his 2022 music video for “The Funeral.” The two artists also shared an emotional backstage exchange at the “Back To The Beginning” concert.
