Sharon Osbourne — British TV figure, music manager and widow of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne — has revealed that a new installment of the Ozzfest touring festival is being planned for 2027.
During a February 6 appearance at MIDEM 2026 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, Sharon said: “ Yes, absolutely. Yeah, we’re gonna do it.
She continued: “Well, the last one we did was 2018. It was just a month before Ozzy got sick, and that was at the Forum in L.A. And there was no plans to stop it. We were still gonna do it, but Ozzy couldn’t. And Ozzy and I would talk about it, and he’d say, ‘Do you think Ozzfest would work without me?’ And I’m, like, ‘Yeah, it’s a brand. It will work without you.’ And he said, ‘We should do it.'”
Earlier in January, Sharon told Billboard that she’s been in talks with Live Nation about making it happen.
“I’ve been talking to Live Nation about bringing [Ozzfest] back recently,” she said at the time. “It was something Ozzy was very passionate about: giving young talent a stage in front of a lot of people. We really started metal festivals in this country. It was [replicated but] never done with the spirit of what ours was, because ours was a place for new talent. It was like summer camp for kids.”
Sharon Osbourne suggested the festival’s return could happen as early as 2027 — and indicated that her plans extend beyond simply bringing the metal event back: “I’d like to mix up the genres,” she said, suggesting that the future Ozzfest could feature a more diverse lineup while keeping its original mission of spotlighting emerging talent.
Ozzfest debuted in 1996 as a two-day event held in Phoenix, Arizona, and Devore, California. It later expanded into a yearly traveling festival throughout the United States, with select stops in Europe and Japan, featuring a mix of established names and emerging acts. Running nearly every year between 1996 and 2018, it earned a reputation as a key platform for breaking new talent in the heavy metal and hard rock worlds.
