Sharon And Kelly Osbourne Share Emotional Tributes To Ozzy On What Would Have Been His 77th Birthday

On what would have been Ozzy Osbourne‘s 77th birthday, the late icon’s family has taken to social media to share poignant tributes to the husband and father they lost earlier this year. The “Prince of Darkness,” who passed away in July at the age of 76, was honored by both his widow, Sharon Osbourne, and his daughter, Kelly Osbourne, in emotional posts shared on Tuesday.

Sharon, 73, posted a moving Instagram Reel compiling fan tributes and personal photographs documenting her life with Ozzy. Her caption spoke directly to her late husband, reflecting the depth of their 43-year marriage.

“My darling husband, I celebrate the day you were born. I will never let go of your hand until I see you on the other side,” Sharon wrote.

Kelly, 41, also utilized Instagram to honor her father, sharing a Reel focused on footage of the legendary singer laughing. Overlaid with text reading “miss Ozzy‘s smile,” the post highlighted the lighter side of the heavy metal pioneer.

“I promise to never stop smiling!” Kelly captioned the video.

The birthday tributes follow a candid and tearful public conversation the family had last month. Returning for the first episode of “The Osbournes” podcast in over a year, Sharon, Kelly, and Jack Osbourne sat down to discuss their grief and the reality of life without their patriarch.

During the episode, Kelly struggled to compose herself as she described the overwhelming nature of the loss.

“I never realized just how horrible grief is. I never knew I was capable of loving somebody so much and missing somebody so much,” Kelly said through tears. “I just — I never thought there’d be a day where he wouldn’t be here.”

Trying to offer comfort, Sharon responded, “But then how blessed are you to have had a dad like him?”

Sharon also opened up about her own struggle, noting that her grief comes in “waves” and admitting that she hates “going to bed at night” and sleeping alone.

“I mean, I slept with you for the first two months so that you weren’t on your own,” Kelly reminded her mother. “But then I felt like you needed some space.”

For Kelly, however, the struggle begins as soon as she wakes up.

“I wake up and for the first three seconds I feel normal,” Kelly explained. “And then I remember everything. Mornings are the hardest for me. What is the morning? Because it happened in the morning. And I used to spend most of my time with Dad in the morning.”

She added that while she knows her father would “hate” to see her in such a state, the emotion is currently inescapable.

“But it’s just all I seem to find myself doing these days because I miss him so much,” she said.

Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, just weeks after performing a final farewell concert in his hometown of Birmingham.
