The final North American leg of Sepultura‘s “Celebrating Life Through Death” tour delivered a historic moment for fans in Pennsylvania on Wednesday night. During their May 13 headlining set at Reverb in Reading, the Brazilian-American metal icons welcomed Biohazard frontman and bassist Evan Seinfeld to the stage for a blistering rendition of the classic track “Slave New World“.
The collaboration holds significant historical weight for the band, as Evan Seinfeld co-wrote the lyrics for “Slave New World” more than three decades ago. The track originally appeared on Sepultura‘s 1994 landmark album, Chaos A.D., a record that helped define the groove-metal subgenre.
Biohazard is currently serving as one of the primary support acts for Sepultura on their extensive 2026 farewell trek. The tour, which officially kicked off its final North American run on April 29 in Montclair, New Jersey, features a stacked bill of metal veterans and rising talent, including the legendary thrash outfit Exodus and the death metal group Tribal Gaze.
The tour serves as a global celebration of Sepultura’s four-decade career, which began its final chapter on March 1, 2024, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. That initial sold-out performance introduced fans to the band’s current drummer, Greyson Nekrutman, who joined the lineup following his tenure with Suicidal Tendencies.
While the band is in the midst of saying goodbye to the road, they have remained creatively active. Just last month, Sepultura released a new EP titled The Cloud Of Unknowing via Nuclear Blast Records. The release features the singles “The Place” and “Beyond The Dream“, the latter of which saw the band collaborate with Sérgio Britto and Tony Bellotto of the legendary Brazilian rock band Titãs.
To commemorate their final journey, Sepultura is currently in the process of recording a massive live compilation. The project aims to capture the band’s peak stage energy by recording 40 different songs across 40 different cities throughout the world tour.
Following the performance in Reading, Sepultura will continue to visit major hubs across the United States and Canada, with upcoming stops scheduled for Montreal, Detroit, Chicago, and Denver. The tour will also see the band perform at several high-profile festivals, including Sonic Temple, before reaching its final North American destination at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on May 29.
Sepultura‘s “Celebrating Life Through Death” tour represents the final opportunity for North American audiences to experience the band’s live legacy before they officially conclude their touring career.
