Sebastian Bach Calls Out Skid Row Amidst Triumph And Rush Reunion Tours: ‘What Is Our Problem?’

With Triumph and Rush back onstage, Sebastian Bach is again asking why Skid Row can’t put their differences aside and reunite.

With legendary Canadian rock acts Triumph and Rush returning to the stage, former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach is once again publicly questioning why his old band can’t seem to follow suit.

In a new interview with “The Metal Voice,” Bach expressed his excitement about the upcoming Triumph reunion tour but used the opportunity to highlight the ongoing stalemate with his former bandmates, bassist Rachel Bolan and guitarist Dave “Snake” Sabo.

Speaking with hosts Jimmy Kay and Alan Dixon, Bach reminisced about his childhood in Peterborough, Ontario, where he was captivated by a poster of Triumph drummer Gil Moore at a local record store.

“I’m happy for Triumph. I think it’s incredible. I’ve always loved Triumph,” Bach said. “I bought a ticket when I was like 10 years old to the Peterborough Memorial Center. I saw the poster of Triumph on the wall at A&A Records and Tapes in the Peterborough Square and it was the poster of Gil Moore on the drum kit with his hand up in the air and then there was pyro going off and Rik Emmett was playing his double neck. I thought, I got to go to this show.”

He recalled the shock of seeing the drummer take command of the crowd, a moment that left a lasting impression on him as a young musician.

“I couldn’t believe it when Gil Moore came down off the drum throne and started talking to the crowd because I never saw a drummer do that. Moore said, ‘Hey, Peterborough, what’s going on?’ and I was like, ‘Oh, he’s the drummer. Like, how’s that happening right now?’ I thought Rik Emmett was going to be talking to the crowd. No, Gil’s in charge. So, I love the band. I’ve always loved a band. Well, I was happy to be part of the tribute album, Magic Power. I got to do ’24 Hours A Day’ and then ‘Rock And Roll Machine’.”

However, Bach‘s nostalgia quickly turned to frustration when comparing the situation to his own career. Seeing bands with arguably more complex histories finding a way to make it work has left him baffled by Skid Row‘s refusal to reunite.

“And when I see Triumph get together (reunite), I’m like, ‘Hey, Snake and Rachel, what do you think of the Triumph tour? What do you think? What are your opinions on this? Well, if Triumph is going back on tour and Rush is going back on tour, what is our problem? Like what the heck’s wrong with us?’ Like it’s just silly.”

Despite the public plea, Bach made it clear he isn’t sitting by the phone.

“I mean, but I’m not waiting around either at the same time. I got my own band. I got my own albums and I play tons of shows. I’m extremely busy.”

True to his word, Bach is hitting the road hard this year. Following a wildly successful, sold-out run in Australia, he is set to launch a major North American headlining tour next month.

The trek will feature support from modern rockers Stitched Up Heart. The pairing is a long time coming; Bach had originally handpicked the band to support his 2020 tour celebrating Skid Row‘s debut album, but those dates were scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
