Hard rock band Saliva has officially released their latest single, “Sadistic Love“. The track is available now through Judge & Jury Records and is accompanied by a new music video directed by Toddi Babu.
“Sadistic Love” features a guitar-driven arrangement and a heavy mid-tempo groove, returning to the early-2000s sound that characterized the band’s initial commercial success. The song combines melodic vocals from frontman Bobby Amaru with lyrics that explore the complexities of remaining in a destructive relationship.
Speaking about the lyrical themes of the new single, Bobby provided the following statement:
“Some relationships become a battlefield. You fight, you break, you swear it’s over, and then somehow you’re right back in the middle of it again. ‘Sadistic Love‘ is about being addicted to the very thing that hurts you. It’s about chaos disguised as passion and pain disguised as connection. Sometimes the scars become part of the attraction. It’s messy, it’s toxic, it’s real, and we wanted the song to feel exactly like that.”
“Sadistic Love” is the fourth single released from Saliva‘s upcoming twelfth studio album, Breaking Through. The record is officially scheduled for release on August 14 via Judge & Jury Records.
In support of the forthcoming album, Saliva is scheduled to tour throughout the summer. The band recently performed at major rock festivals, including Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple.
Saliva achieved widespread commercial recognition following the release of their major-label debut, Every Six Seconds (2001), which went double-platinum and featured the Grammy-nominated track “Your Disease” alongside “Click Click Boom“. The band followed this success with Back Into Your System (2002), producing the hit singles “Always“, “Raise Up“, and “Rest In Pieces“.
Their most recent project, Revelation: Retold (2025), served as a deluxe reimagining of their 2023 album, featuring guest vocals, unreleased tracks, and reworked versions of established songs.
Following the passing of founding guitarist Wayne Swinny in 2023, the band’s current lineup features no original members from their mid-1990s formation. Saliva currently consists of vocalist Bobby Amaru, bassist Brad Stewart, guitarists Josh Kulack and Sebastian LaBar, and drummer Sammi Jo Bishop.
