Rush fans, rejoice—the iconic Canadian rock band is returning to the stage for the first time in over a decade. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have announced the “Fifty Something” tour, a limited run of North American dates set for summer 2026. This marks their first live performances since their emotional farewell with drummer Neil Peart in 2015.
The tour begins June 7 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, the same venue where Rush played their final show with Peart, who passed away in 2020 after a private battle with cancer. Lee and Lifeson are framing the tour as a celebration of Rush’s legacy and a tribute to their late bandmate.
Joining the duo on drums will be Anika Nilles, a standout talent known for her work with Jeff Beck and her own solo releases. Lee discovered her through Beck’s tour and was immediately impressed, saying, “She’s terrific.” He expressed confidence that Rush’s loyal fanbase will embrace her in the near-impossible role of filling Peart’s shoes. The band also hinted at adding another musician or two, possibly a keyboardist, to expand their sound and give Lee and Lifeson room to “show off some of our new fancy dance steps.”
Each show will follow an “Evening With Rush” format, featuring two full sets drawn from a curated list of 35 songs. Fans can expect a mix of classics, deep cuts, and fan favorites—performed with the precision and passion that defined Rush’s legendary live shows. Pre-sale registration is open until Thursday, October 9 at 11:59PM ET.
The tour includes stops in Los Angeles, Mexico City, Fort Worth, Chicago, New York, Toronto, and Cleveland. With rehearsals already underway, Rush’s return promises to be more than a concert—it’s a moment of reconnection, remembrance, and rock revival.
