Rush legends Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are turning their long-awaited return to the stage into something even more meaningful. The duo have confirmed that a portion of proceeds from their upcoming 2026 “Fifty Something” headline tour will be donated to help fund a Neil Peart Memorial in their late bandmate’s hometown of St. Catharines, Ontario.
The news comes via The St. Catharines Standard, which reports that fundraising for the Lakeside Park memorial has regained serious momentum and is now on track to reach its $1 million fundraising goal. City officials believe the financial contribution from Rush — combined with renewed attention surrounding the tour — could be the final push needed to move the project forward.
The “Fifty Something” tour serves as both a celebration and a tribute, honoring Rush’s vast musical legacy while paying respect to drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, who died in 2020. For fans, the run carries added weight: it marks the first time Lee and Lifeson have toured together in eleven years, following the closing night of Rush’s “R40 Tour” on August 1, 2015 at the Forum in Los Angeles.
That same venue will once again play a symbolic role, as the tour officially launches on June 7, 2026, at the Kia Forum. From there, the run will stretch across Canada, the United States, and Mexico, featuring extended multi-night stands in major cities.
Each date is billed as an “evening with” performance, with two full sets per night and no opening acts. Rather than repeating a fixed setlist, Lee and Lifeson will rotate songs nightly, pulling from a 35-song pool that spans Rush’s catalog — from iconic hits to deeper fan favorites.
Joining the pair onstage will be Anika Nilles, the acclaimed German drummer, composer, and producer known for her work with Jeff Beck and her own solo material. While the tour stops short of being labeled a full Rush reunion, it represents a rare and carefully considered return — one rooted in legacy, respect, and celebration rather than nostalgia alone.
