Responding to a massive, sold-out response from fans, Rush co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have announced they are adding a second show to all 17 cities on the second leg of their “Fifty Something” reunion tour. The band has also added a second date in Mexico City, bringing the total number of newly added shows to 18.
The announcement comes after the initial dates in the first seven cities, including four-night stands in Los Angeles, New York, and Toronto, sold out immediately. The “incredible demand” has now prompted the band to expand the entire 2026 tour, which will see Lee and Lifeson perform with acclaimed drummer Anika Nilles for the first time in 11 years.
In a new video message released with the announcement, the band expressed their shock and gratitude for the massive fan response.
“We are blown away from the response to the announcement we made a few weeks ago that we’re going back on tour,” the band said. “I cannot tell you how surprising and overwhelmed we are and the way you guys have welcomed Anika Nilles. It’s been very heartwarming, and I know that she’s very appreciative of that. We’re even more excited to get back on stage and play with her and to go through the plethora of songs that we’re planning.”
The tour, which celebrates the band’s catalog and the life of late drummer Neil Peart, will now feature multi-night stops in every city on the itinerary, including new second dates in Philadelphia, Boston, Montreal, Seattle, and Vancouver.
The special “evening with” format will see the band perform two sets each night. Rush has also announced that they will build each night’s setlist from a master catalog of 35 songs, ensuring that each show features a distinct selection of hits and fan favorites.
An artist presale for the newly added dates will begin on Monday, October 27, with the general on-sale following on Friday, October 31.
