Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has officially announced his upcoming sixth solo studio album, titled The Dogg Mob. To kick off the album cycle, the legendary frontman has dropped the record’s lead single, “I Need U“.

The brand-new track features Stephen Pearcy handling both lead vocals and rhythm guitar, accompanied by guitarist Erik Ferentinos, bassist Matt Thorne, and drummer Blas Elias. Adding an element of mystery to the release, the song also boasts an undisclosed “special guest” making an appearance on guitar.

“This song’s on me — download it before they charge ya,” Pearcy wrote in a message on his official website. “We’ve been writing some killer material the last few years — Erik Ferentinos and I — with Matt Thorne at MT Studios shaping the sound. We’re fired up about this record.”

Fans actually got an early taste of the new project back in February when the singer teased a brief snippet of another track called “Drive All Night Long“. That song, which can still be previewed on his Instagram page, also features a secret guest lead guitarist whose identity will be revealed in the near future.

The Dogg Mob is tentatively scheduled to arrive this summer via the singer’s own Top Fuel Records imprint.

The upcoming release serves as the direct follow-up to his 2018 solo effort, View To A Thrill, which was issued through Frontiers Music Srl. That album, the successor to 2017’s Smash, was produced by Matt Thorne and Stephen Pearcy, with mixing and mastering duties handled by Erik Ferentinos.

Outside of the recording studio, the vocalist has spent the past year hitting the road for sporadic live shows alongside guitar virtuoso Warren DeMartini, his longtime Ratt bandmate. The duo has been performing their classic material under the Pearcy/DeMartini moniker. Meanwhile, the main Ratt camp has remained quiet on the recording front, having not released a full-length studio album since 2010’s Infestation.
