Maynard James Keenan and his Puscifer bandmates have released their take on “Congregation,” originally by slowcore group Low from Duluth, MN. Their rendition isn’t just a tribute to Low’s late singer and drummer Mimi Parker — it also serves as a musical response to the recent immigration enforcement actions underway in Minnesota by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Those operations have stirred controversy, sparking protests and drawing criticism over aggressive tactics that have included fatal encounters with civilians and prompted widespread demonstrations.

Keenan explained the reasons behind the cover on his social media:

“All the madness going on in Minneapolis sent me down a @lowtheband rabbit hole. Missing Mimi Parker. Carina suggested maybe we cover a song in her and their honor. Merchants of Emotion is in our job description. ‘Discovering New and Awful Ways to Treat Each Other’ wasn’t on my Bingo card for 2026, but here we are.”

With the release of their fifth studio album Normal Isn’t fast approaching on February 6, Puscifer is taking a grassroots approach to the celebration. The band has previously announced a series of exclusive early screenings for their new concert film, “Normal Isn’t: Puscifer Live At The Pacific Stock Exchange“, to be hosted at select independent record stores across the country.

The screenings, scheduled to take place between February 6 and February 8, underscore the band’s longstanding commitment to physical media and the shops that champion it.
