Canadian progressive metal pioneers Protest the Hero have announced a new Canadian headlining tour in support of their acclaimed new album, Within, marking the band’s return to stages across the country following the release of their first full-length album in six years.
The announcement comes as Protest the Hero are currently heading home from their tour across Europe, performing headline dates alongside festival appearances at Radar Festival in Manchester, Brutal Assault in Czech Republic, and Munich’s Free & Easy festival. Where their live show has been recently described as “a thing of chaotic excellence”, “put on a masterclass of sheer joy and energy that flowed throughout an ecstatic crowd” and “giving a performance to match the sold out crowd’s energy and then some!”
The highly anticipated record Within has already surpassed 1.3 million streams across all streaming platforms and earned widespread praise from Guitar World, Metal Injection, Metal Hammer, Decibel, Rolling Stone, and more, reaffirming the band’s place at the forefront of modern progressive metal. This was the band’s most successful pre-order campaign of their career. The “Mouthpiece” video was added to Stingray Hard, as well as placements in major radio stations like Liquid Metal on Sirius XM, CBC Music and others. Along with editorial playlists across Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube, including New Music Friday, New in Metal, New in Hard Rock, Breaking Metal, Rock Now, and Breaking Hard Rock.
