For the first time in over a decade, the legendary New York hardcore outfit Pro-Pain is heading back to the frontlines. The band has announced the release of their sixteenth studio album, Stone Cold Anger, set to drop on May 15, 2026. This marks the group’s first new release in 11 years and their debut partnership with Napalm Records.

The album sees the return of former guitarist Eric Klinger, reinforcing a lineup that includes founder Gary Meskil (bass/vocals), Jonas Sanders (drums), and Greg Discenza (lead guitar).

To kick off this new chapter, the band has unleashed the lead single, “Oceans Of Blood“. The track serves as a heavy, groove-laden introduction to a record that promises to be as politically charged and aggressive as anything in their 35-year catalog.

Discussing the themes behind the new music, bassist and vocalist Gary Meskil offered a deep dive into the frustrations fueling the songwriting:

“A common thread runs through the lion’s share of lyrics found in Stone Cold Anger. Much of it has to do with retribution, and our first single, ‘Oceans Of Blood’, is representative of that. The frustration among people worldwide regarding the rampant corruption and criminality of their governments has reached a breaking point. Wars are being waged in their names, without any consent, funded by their own hard-earned tax dollars. With rising living costs and inflation eroding the value of money, tensions are rising. We’ve already seen this reach a critical level in countries like Sri Lanka, France, and more recently, Nepal, where desperate citizens have taken drastic actions against corrupt politicians, even resorting to violence and destruction of property. When those in power evade accountability for their actions, it leaves the populace with little choice but to assert their rights and take back control.”

Stone Cold Anger is described as an “exceptionally catchy” collection that blends the band’s signature chugging riffs with anthemic vocals. Tracks like the title cut, “March Of The Giants“, and “Uncle Sam Wants You!” highlight the band’s ability to mix brute force with melody and social commentary. The record closes out with “Sky’s The Limit“, featuring sing-along choruses that prove the band hasn’t lost its knack for writing hooks.

Reflecting on the long road back to the studio, Meskil shared a message of gratitude to the fanbase:

“Thank you to our fans worldwide for 35 years of unwavering support. After a decade away from the recording studio, we return with Stone Cold Anger — an album forged from global tension and the rising demand for accountability. Our first single, ‘Oceans Of Blood‘, captures the outrage felt as corruption, injustice, and economic pressure push people to their limits.”
