Poppy Releases New Single ‘Unravel,’ Her First Original Solo Track Of 2025

The Grammy-nominated artist Poppy has released her first original solo single of the year, a new track titled “Unravel.” The song, which was released yesterday, October 23, via Sumerian Records, was co-written and produced by Jordan Fish (formerly of Bring Me The Horizon).

Unravel” is described as Poppy “at her most vulnerable,” a track that “fuses haunting vocals and intimate lyrics that culminate in a high-octane, passionate chorus.” The song continues her evolution as a “boundary-pushing artist paving her own experimental metalcore lane.” The single is accompanied by a new visualizer, directed by her longtime collaborator Sam Cannon, which captures Poppy “as she comes face to face with a tornado in the distance.”

The new single follows a “monumental year” for the artist. Her 2024 collaboration with Knocked Loose, “Suffocate,” earned a 2025 Grammy nomination for “Best Metal Performance.” This was her second time being recognized in the category, having made history in 2021 as the first-ever solo female nominee for her track “Bloodmoney.”

Unravel” is the latest in a series of high-profile releases for Poppy. It follows her recent collaboration with a duo of metal’s most prominent and versatile vocalists Evanescence‘s Amy Lee and Spiritbox‘s Courtney LaPlante on the song “End Of You,” which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.

Having recently completed her “They’re All Around Us” tour, Poppy is now set to join Linkin Park for a run of stadium shows in South America, beginning tomorrow in Bogotá, Colombia.
