Paul Stanley On New KISS Music: ‘Classic’ Vibes, Dance Beats And Timeless Themes

KISS frontman Paul Stanley has offered his most specific vision yet for what a potential return to the studio would sound like, telling paparazzi that any new material from the rock legends would need to balance “classic” rock energy with a danceable groove.

In an impromptu interview with TMZ on Tuesday, November 18, while out in Beverly Hills, California, the “Starchild” was pressed on the likelihood of new music from the band following their recent “Landlocked In Vegas” reunion event.

“It’s possible. It’s possible. Life’s full of surprises,” Stanley told the photographer.

When asked to describe the “vibe” fans could expect if the band—which officially retired from touring in 2023—decided to record again, Stanley outlined a sound that seemingly harkens back to the band’s disco-rock fusion era of the late 70s.

“I think we’d probably go for something that’s classic, but everything has to have a beat,” Stanley explained. “You gotta be able to dance to it, but it should still be rock.”

He also elaborated on the lyrical themes that would drive this hypothetical new chapter, rejecting the idea that age should change the band’s message.

“Freedom, self-empowerment, enjoying life. That doesn’t change. It doesn’t matter how old you are,” Stanley said. “You’re supposed to enjoy your life, you’re supposed to do things your way. That’s timeless. That’s rock and roll.”

These comments arrive just days after Stanley dropped a bombshell during a Q&A session at the “KISS Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas” event on November 16. Speaking to fans at the Virgin Hotels resort, he shifted the narrative from “possible” to “probable.”

“There may be some music in the works. We like to tell you what we’re doing, the things that are planned,” he told the Vegas crowd. “The problem is that so much of what we may bring up never comes to fruition, [but] music, yeah, that looks pretty damn… more than possible. Probable.”

Most significantly, he confirmed that the creative process has already begun. “I’m not going to give you any hints, but I only write when there’s a project — and I’ve been writing.”

The recent activities and comments suggests that while the “End of the Road” tour may have concluded their life on the touring circuit, KISS is far from finished as a creative entity.
