Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons will throw the ceremonial first pitch at Angel Stadium on August 15, ahead of a Kiss-themed fireworks show.
Gene Simmons has taken a Major League mound twice before. This time he brings Paul Stanley with him.
The Kiss co-founders will throw the ceremonial first pitch when the Los Angeles Angels host the Kansas City Royals at Angel Stadium in Anaheim on Saturday, August 15. It is their first joint appearance of this kind.
The Angels confirmed the booking on social media: “Ready to Rock And Roll All Nite at the Big A?”
“Join us on Saturday, August 15th as Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley from [Kiss] toss the ceremonial first pitch! Be sure to stay after the game for a Kiss-themed postgame fireworks show!”
The fireworks are part of the club’s Saturday night series, which runs on selected dates from April through September.
Simmons has form here. He threw out the first pitch at Dodger Stadium in July 2011 before a Los Angeles Dodgers game against the New York Mets, and again in May 2018 at Wrigley Field, opening a Crosstown Classic meeting between the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox.
Angel Stadium has been the Angels‘ home since 1966, making it one of the oldest ballparks still in use in Major League Baseball. Its nickname, “The Big A”, comes from the 230-foot A-frame scoreboard that once stood behind the outfield and now sits in the car park.
The appearance lands in a busy stretch for both men. Stanley and Simmons were named to the Songwriters Hall Of Fame Class of 2026, and in April they appeared at Pollstar Live! in Los Angeles alongside longtime manager Doc McGhee and Pophouse chief executive Jessica Koravos to discuss the band’s planned Las Vegas future.
Two weeks after the game, on August 28, their sons release their first album together. Evan Stanley and Nick Simmons record as Stanley Simmons, and their debut Dancing While The World Is Ending arrives through TLG | ZOID.
Kiss played their final show as a touring band on December 2, 2023 at Madison Square Garden in New York, closing out the “End Of The Road” run.
