Pantera fans and collectors have a major new release to anticipate, as Rufus Publications has announced an officially sanctioned visual history of the legendary groove metal pioneers. Titled simply “Pantera,” the upcoming coffee table book is a collaboration with world-renowned rock photographer Ross Halfin and is scheduled to ship in the spring of 2026.
This comprehensive volume promises to be the definitive visual document of the band’s career, bridging their storied past with their triumphant present. Halfin, whose lens has captured the biggest names in rock history, has spent recent years embedded with the current Pantera touring lineup—featuring original members Philip Anselmo and Rex Brown alongside guitarist Zakk Wylde and drummer Charlie Benante.
The book will feature intimate, never-before-seen photography documenting the band’s recent global return, capturing both the ferocity of their live performances and candid moments offstage. Crucially, Halfin has also unlocked his extensive personal archives to include rare images of the band’s classic era, paying tribute to the late founding brothers “Dimebag” Darrell and Vinnie Paul Abbott.
The publication itself is designed as a luxury item for serious collectors. Presented in a massive A3 portrait format, the book spans over 300 pages, allowing Halfin‘s imagery to be displayed on a grand scale. Each copy will be housed in a custom slipcase featuring a diamond-plate design—a visual nod to the band’s rugged, blue-collar aesthetic.
In keeping with the band’s lore, the production run is strictly limited to 666 numbered copies worldwide. Each book will be hand-signed by all four members of the current lineup: Philip Anselmo, Rex Brown, Zakk Wylde, and Charlie Benante.
Pre-orders for “Pantera” will launch exclusively via the Rufus Publications website starting tomorrow, Thursday, December 4, at 3:00 p.m. UK time. The book is priced at £250 (plus shipping).
Since returning to the stage in 2022, Pantera has reignited a global fervor for their music, selling out arenas and headlining major festivals worldwide.
