The BRIT Awards 2026 have announced that the late, great Ozzy Osbourne will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s ceremony. Taking place this Saturday, February 28, the event will celebrate the colossal impact the Black Sabbath founder and solo icon had on the global music landscape before his passing last July.
To close out the night, a special all-star tribute will pay homage to the “Prince of Darkness.” Curated by Sharon Osbourne, the performance will feature a unique arrangement of “No More Tears“—the title track from his multi-million-selling 1991 album, No More Tears. The backing band will consist of musicians who have toured with Ozzy throughout his career: keyboardist Adam Wakeman, bassist Robert Trujillo, drummer Tommy Clufetos, and guitarist Zakk Wylde. Fronting the tribute will be pop star Robbie Williams, a longtime friend of the Osbourne family and a massive fan of the music.
Stacey Tang, chair of the 2026 BRIT Awards committee and co-president of RCA Records at Sony Music U.K., shared the following statement about the induction:
“Ozzy Osbourne has been a mighty force in modern music. Possessing an unmistakable voice and unique presence, he reshaped the sound and spirit of rock, inspiring generations of artists who followed. This Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a remarkable legacy built on originality and enduring influence, that continues to connect with fans worldwide.”
Over a career spanning more than five decades, Ozzy Osbourne sold over 100 million albums worldwide. His immense catalog includes defining heavy metal anthems with Black Sabbath like “Paranoid“, “Iron Man“, and “Children Of The Grave“, as well as massive solo hits such as “Bark At The Moon“, “Crazy Train“, and “No More Tears“. He also helped reshape the touring industry with the launch of the Ozzfest festival. He was no stranger to the ceremony either, having previously hosted the BRIT Awards in 2008 alongside his family, Sharon, Kelly, and Jack.
The honor arrives following Ozzy‘s final live performance last summer at the historic “Back To The Beginning” benefit concert at Villa Park in Birmingham. The event saw him reunite with his Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, alongside tributes from heavy metal giants like Tom Morello, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Mastodon, and Anthrax.
Hosted by Jack Whitehall, the 2026 BRIT Awards will broadcast live from Manchester’s Co-op Live on ITV and ITVX. For the first time, UK viewers can also stream the show on ITV’s YouTube channel, while international fans can tune in via the official BRITs YouTube channel. This year’s winner’s trophy was crafted by acclaimed Manchester-born designer Matthew Williamson.
