In a deeply emotional and revealing return of “The Osbournes Podcast,” Sharon Osbourne shared that her late husband, Ozzy Osbourne, had two specific musical projects he was passionate about completing before his passing on July 22.
The episode, the first since the metal icon’s death, saw Sharon, Kelly, and Jack Osbourne reflecting on Ozzy’s final days and legacy. Amidst discussions of a secret hospitalization before the “Back To The Beginning” concert and the global outpouring of love, Sharon revealed the unfinished musical commitments.
Sharon explained that Ozzy had agreed to record two tracks that, due to his declining health and schedule, “never materialized.” One was a contribution to a tribute album for his dear friend, Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead, and the other was a collaboration with Disturbed frontman David Draiman.
“There was two [obligations] that he didn’t finish,” Sharon said (as transcribed by theprp). “Lemmy, um, there’s an album coming out of people covering Lemmy songs, and he had chosen his song and he really, really wanted to do it. He really, really wanted to do it and we were trying to fit it in, and he really wanted to be on that album for Lemmy. And the other one was David Draiman and him were doing a duet and… never happened.”
The revelation highlights Ozzy‘s desire to continue working and to honor his friend, Lemmy, even as his health failed. The duet with Draiman, a respected figure in modern metal, also points to Ozzy‘s continued engagement with the music world.
The podcast episode also saw the family address a wide range of topics, including playing a voicemail of condolence from President Donald Trump, slamming Pink Floyd‘s Roger Waters for his “disparaging” comments about Ozzy, and correcting the record on the amount of money raised by the “Back To The Beginning” tribute concert.
