The “Catman” is returning to New York City for a special celebration. Original KISS drummer Peter Criss has confirmed he will make a rare public appearance to sign copies of his brand-new solo album, titled simply Peter Criss, on its release day this week.
The event is scheduled for Friday, December 19, at Rough Trade Below, located beneath Rockefeller Center. Fans wishing to attend can RSVP via Dice.fm.
In a message directed to his loyal fanbase, Criss expressed his excitement about the launch.
“Hey KISS Army! I look forward to seeing you on Friday, December 19th at Rough Trade Rockefeller Center in NYC! I will be there from 11AM to 2PM signing my new album!”
The new record marks Criss‘ first solo release since 2007’s One For All and promises a heavier sound than his previous outings. Co-produced by Criss and Barry Pointer—whose credits include work with Ozzy Osbourne and Mötley Crüe—the album features a formidable lineup of guest musicians.
The personnel list includes bassist Billy Sheehan, guitarist John 5, pianist Paul Shaffer, guitarist Mike McLaughlin, and bassist Matthew Montgomery (also known as Piggy D.). Backing vocals were provided by Dennis and Sharon Collins alongside Cat Manning of Cat 5.
A statement released via the project’s Bandcamp page describes the album as a revitalized effort from the rock legend.
“Peter Criss represents the Catman’s return to form, and his most rock driven solo album ever and it includes appearances by John 5, Billy Sheehan and Paul Shaffer. All CDs and the download album of Peter Criss include the bonus track ‘Hard Rock Knockers‘, all vinyl editions include a download card for this bonus track, as well.”
