Original Dogma Singer Isa Roddy Claims She Was Never Compensated For Her Time In The Band

Isa Roddy, the founding vocalist who helped launch the mysterious all-female hard rock act Dogma, has broken her silence regarding her departure from the group, levelling serious accusations of financial exploitation and intellectual property theft against the band’s operators.

In a detailed statement posted to Instagram yesterday, November 28, Roddy—who portrayed the central character Lilith I—claimed that she went largely uncompensated during her two-and-a-half-year tenure with the project. She alleges that despite playing a pivotal role in establishing the band’s visual identity, lore, and sound, she received “no compensation” for her labor.

Roddy‘s grievances extend beyond unpaid wages. She asserts that Dogma continues to monetize her work without her permission. Specifically, she claims that her recorded vocals are still being utilized in the band’s live performances and released materials, and that the band is selling merchandise featuring the mask design she helped create based on her own facial features.

“Despite my creative, vocal, and conceptual contributions, I received no compensation, and my audiovisual recordings were later used across multiple materials without my explicit authorization,” Roddy wrote.

She specifically listed several key tracks from the band’s discography that feature her voice, including “Father I Have Sinned,” “My First Peak,” “Forbidden Zone,” “The Dark Messiah,” “Free Yourself,” and “Pleasure From Pain.”

The singer, who relocated to Germany in 2021, stated that stepping away from the project in mid-2022 was necessary to protect her identity and artistic rights. She is currently developing a new musical endeavor that she promises will be built on “full artistic freedom and professional integrity.”

Roddy‘s public condemnation follows a pattern of instability within Dogma. Reports indicate that at least nine different musicians have cycled through the lineup in recent years. Several former associates have echoed Roddy‘s sentiments, alleging a toxic environment where management exercises strict control over members who are often poorly compensated for their contributions.

Dogma has not yet issued a response to Roddy‘s specific allegations regarding the unauthorized use of her vocals and image.
