The surviving members of the original Alice Cooper band have reunited for The Revenge Of Alice Cooper, their first new studio album together in over 50 years. The record, set for release on July 25 via earMUSIC, brings together vocalist Alice Cooper, guitarist Michael Bruce, bassist Dennis Dunaway, and drummer Neal Smith with legendary producer Bob Ezrin.
To mark the announcement, the band has released the album’s second single, “Wild Ones.” Inspired by the classic 1953 Marlon Brando film “The Wild One“, the track is described as a high-energy return to the rebellious, guitar-driven sound that defined the band’s influential early work.
Heralded as the successor to their iconic 70s albums like School’s Out and Billion Dollar Babies, The Revenge Of Alice Cooper aims to capture the vintage horror and shock rock energy that made the group famous. The reunion with producer Bob Ezrin, who helmed their classic records, took place in an old-school recording studio in Connecticut to intentionally rekindle their signature creative magic.
The album serves as a bridge between the band’s storied past and present, featuring a posthumous appearance by the late original guitarist, Glen Buxton, who passed away in 1997. An unreleased recording of Buxton‘s original guitar work is featured on the track “What Happened To You”.
Additionally, a long-lost gem from 1970—a raw, alternate take of “Return Of The Spiders”—will be included as a bonus track on limited editions of the album. The recording was recently unearthed from multi-track tapes that had been missing for 50 years and has been newly mixed by Ezrin.
From the “venomous bite” of opening track “Black Mamba” to the “haunting melodies” of “See You On The Other Side,” the album is being touted as a powerful and nostalgic journey for fans. The Revenge Of Alice Cooper will be available in a wide variety of formats, including limited edition vinyl colors and a box set.
