For fans of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, the return of More is always cause for celebration, but their upcoming third studio album carries a weight far heavier than just nostalgia. Titled Destructor, the long-awaited LP is set for release on March 6, 2026, and serves as the final production credit of legendary producer Chris Tsangarides.

Best known for his work with Judas Priest, King Diamond, and Thin Lizzy, Tsangarides passed away in January 2017. However, just prior to his death, he had completed the final mixes for Destructor at his own facility, The Ecology Rooms. The album represents a poignant final chapter in his storied career, capturing his “unmistakable touch” and featuring guitar work recorded through his world-famous Vortex system.

The road to Destructor was anything but straightforward. The album effectively vanished following Tsangarides‘ death until bassist Baz Nicholls took matters into his own hands. Nicholls managed to recover the final mixes from studio equipment left behind after the facility closed, saving the sessions on a USB drive.

To ensure the audio received the treatment it deserved, the band enlisted renowned mastering engineer Maor Appelbaum (a frequent collaborator of Tsangarides) to polish the tracks in Los Angeles. The result is a ten-track collection that balances “power and finesse,” standing as a tribute to the late producer while reasserting More‘s place in the modern metal landscape.

Alongside the album announcement, the band has shared a performance video for the lead single, “Spirits Of War.” According to Nicholls, the song earned its spot as the lead track the old-fashioned way: by winning over live audiences.

“Why ‘Spirits Of War‘ as the single?” Nicholls comments. “While preparing Destructor for release, More began introducing new material into their live set. One song quickly separated itself from the rest. Each time it was played, ‘Spirits Of War’ drew the strongest reaction from the crowd, with audiences instinctively singing along to its unmistakable ‘Valhalla’ chorus chant. It soon became clear that ‘Spirits of War’ wasn’t just another track from the album — it was becoming a More anthem.”

Formed in London in 1979 (originally as Defender), More was a staple of the NWOBHM explosion. Their 1981 debut Warhead and the 1982 follow-up Blood & Thunder are considered classics of the era, leading to high-profile tours with Iron Maiden and a slot at the legendary Monsters of Rock festival.

Now operating under their own label, Warhead Music LLP, with support from executive producer Dan McConomy, the band is taking Destructor global via digital distribution through The Orchard. Die-hard collectors can also secure a limited-edition signed CD digipack exclusively through the band’s online store.
